Our Programs
PROGRAMS OF THE ASSOCIATION 2015-2025
The Association shall implement the following programs that are aligned with its purpose. The programs shall be delivered in accordance with the principles and best practices of the Association.
Community Improvement Program
- Award five $200 matching funds to no more than five members who engage in community projects in their native districts in Ghana. The funds would be awarded to qualifying members who complete an application form and are interviewed by the Board to demonstrate ability to preserve and secure the project investment. Photographs of the finished project showing the member and a “Project Funded By Asanteman Association of Minnesota” sign shall be furnished to the Association.
- Develop total participation of members and their children in high schools in the MnDOT Adopt-A-Highway program.
PRINCIPLES & BEST PRACTICES OF THE ASSOCIATION
Transparency and Accountability
The Association shall conduct mission, financial, and decision-making activities with accountability and transparency.
Financial Management
The Association shall act as responsible stewards in managing the financial resources using accounting principles that produce reliable financial information, ensure fiscal responsibility and build membership trust.
Leadership Culture
The Association shall operate open and interactive leadership practices to engage broad participation of members in important discussions and decision-making to address the interests and concerns of the members and community.
Governance
The Association shall assemble an active board to be responsible for developing, defining and reviewing the organization’s mission and for providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the organization.
Fundraising
The Association shall develop a culture of philanthropy by engaging the interests and relationships of members, individuals and institutions, and providing them with opportunities to voluntarily contribute to our causes.
Strategic Alliances
The Association shall sustain a positive, healthy and successful relationships with other sister associations, affiliated businesses and local government for the purposes of resource sharing, improved operational efficiency, strengthening the capacity of the association and the community as a whole.
Evaluation
The Association shall conduct regular reviews to increase and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of delivery of services to the members.
Planning
The Association shall adopt clear strategic priorities that can be acted upon, guide the organization’s decision-making and are revisited regularly.
Human Resources
The Association shall continue to grow the membership and make the best use of the energy, time and talents volunteered by our members to accomplish the association purpose.
